A day to remember

I was beyond excited when Edo Murić, a Slovenian national basketball team player, and his then soon-to-be wife Nina reached out to me to film their wedding. As someone who has been an avid basketball fan since forever, the opportunity to be a part of their special day was an absolute dream come true.

The couple got married on a beautiful summer day at the Brdo Estate and this was hands down one of my favorite weddings of the season. Not only I had the pleasure to meet Edo and Nina, but their wedding was an incredible day filled with so much emotion. Everything from the moving wedding ceremony, heartfelt speeches from their friends, all the way to the wild reception party with a packed dance floor – it was definitely an experience I’ll never forget.

Brdo Estate wedding

Nina and Edo had their wedding ceremony at the Brdo Estate, a renowned Slovenian wedding venue located in Brdo pri Kranju, mid-way between Ljubljana and Bled. This green estate dates back to the 16th century and has always been a popular retreat for noble families and high officials.

With its tree-lined pathways, charming little lakes, and the romantic Strmol castle, the Brdo Estate is now one of the most popular wedding venues in Slovenia – and not without a reason. It is a place where unspoiled nature meets the legacy of a royal residence, providing the perfect scenery for a fairytale wedding day.

Good vibes only

The couple’s wedding ceremony was held outside surrounded by the lush greenery of Brdo Park. With Nina arriving at the venue in an elegant carriage drawn by Lipizzaner horses, it really felt like a fairytale. She shined in a romantic wedding gown designed by Maja Ferme and even the ceremony decor perfectly matched the fairytale vibe of the scene.

After the ceremony, the guests made their way to the Congress Centre, where the wedding reception was held. What followed was a big wedding celebration full of delicious food, lots of dancing (props to Samuel Lucas for the music), and some pretty dang good times! And while the guests were having fun, photographers Taja Košir Popovič and Tamara Vidmar made sure Nina and Edo would remember not only their wedding ceremony but also the fun they had at their wedding party for years to come.
